Talking advice please !

Is there anything to take when you are feeling abit weak and tired. I always feel dehydrated and then I get headaches which then makes me moody. Helppppp. I am not on my iron tablets anymore as my specialist adviced not to take them anymore due to problems I was having.

Is there anything just to give me a boost?
I feel like i am getting old haha

cheers guys.

you can drink dioralyte to replace fluids u are loosing they r the best thing to drink when having a flare up even tho they taste yuk!. Also tonic is good, you have 2-3 spoonfuls a day and that aids healing when ur ill xxx hope u feel abit better soon when i used to flare up it did the same to me , but unfortunately tiredness and feeling like u have no energy is a sym of these dieases. Its because ur levels all go loopy when your unwell xx

I've used Dioralyte in the past which was prescribed to me. I was really ill at this point though so can't say how good it is.

I also like isotonic drinks such as lucozade or if i need a sugar boost then something like Ribena is a good bet. Buying those things can be expensive though if you're consuming them on a regular basis.

Has your specialist advised you on anything which might be beneficial?

I'm almost constantly tired, and it really is one of the things that annoys me the most. It's hard to operate on a normal basis. I take a multi vitamin which has folic acid, iron, all the others etc but if I'm honest it doesn't seem to help much. I know from my bloods that my RBC's and so forth are all very low and I assume this doesn't help either, but the effect our meds have on our blood often can't be helped, and it's a trade off. I have a liver problem as well and large amounts of caffeine or things like that just make that worse, so I don't really know what to.

You could try supplements and things, but check with your doctor first. Other than that, just try to cope as best you can really, try and drag yourself out of bed and give each day a good go, if you don't quite last it, then don't beat yourself up about it. It can be a problem handling out of sync body clocks because of when you can't help but sleep even when it's not really time for it.

One thing I would mention is that I'm usually more tired after a meal (which is natural, as blood diverts to your stomach) but for people like us who are already pretty tired, this seems to sometimes push me over the edge, so I think more frequent smaller meals might be better. I'm just theorising on that last point, but might be worth a go.
